The Great Fire of 1910

Can the records kept from disasters help with your research?

Join Executive Director Angela Breidenbach as she shares some of the unexpected places you may find important genealogical information. She has found information about one of her ancestors where she least expected it and is currently combing through several interesting clues to find another lost family member.

Angela begins the video by telling the story of the Great Fire of 1910 and her family’s bicycle trip through history.  She explains how the fire may have started, talks about the towns that were affected by the fire, and shares heart-warming stories of some of the survivors.
