Court records/state papers/parliamentary documents are always present for examination for the bulk of most recent Irish history, though their details will often vary significantly from period to period. Like tax & electoral records, however, they tend to be a very underused record collection by genealogical researchers.

This course will discuss these sources focussing on the various forms of records available, what information they contain and their value, the challenges in accessing or using these records, locating these source records and discussing any known available bibliographies, calendars, indexes, transcripts, and abstracts that might exist.
