This course discusses the importance of preliminary research in one’s home country, and then provides a brief history of Ireland. administrative divisions (civil and ecclesiastical), as well as Irish place and family names. The course concludes with record types available in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, including maps and migration patterns.
