The course examines how to access information in newspapers and other published sources, including both freely available and subscription-based material. It also considers industry-specific publications and other printed works relating to particular occupations or geographic areas.

By the end of the course, students should have an understanding of Scottish printed sources and newspapers available, how they can be accessed, and which are most appropriate in particular research contexts.
