Collection: Specialty Studies

To qualify for the Specialty Studies program, you must have earned your PLCGS post nominal and/or a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in family history or equivalent. You will earn an additional specialties post nominal through this program.
Post nominal examples:
Specialty International Military Research post nominal is -- MILITARY-SPC 
Specialty International Religious Research post nominal is -- RELIGIOUS-SPC 
     Choose the specialty that fits your career plan. Regardless of which specialty program you take, it includes guidance from an assigned mentoring professor who works with you 4 times, 45 minutes each meeting, during the entire program.
     The first course, the Research Core Curriculum, is the introduction and outlines the required courses, elective courses, and any required or optional materials/books is your first course. (Each specialty program has differing numbers of required and/or elective courses pertaining to the topic you'll be studying.) You'll also complete the assignments for each course, plus additional essay assignments, to form your presentation in preparing your dissertation.
     The final course in your program is the Dissertation. The PLCGS or equivalent graduate student will create and present an educational public Zoom video based on the  specialty study. The recording is made available to the graduate to use as an expert reference for future marketing of their business, showcasing expertise, and building credibility within the genealogical industry.
